The Yucca Rostrata is one of the hardiest yuccas and can handle down to about -15 °C, as long as the soil stays dry. Make sure water can drain freely from the bowl, or move the plant into a larger pot with a drainage layer of gravel or clay pebbles over time; among our outdoor pots and baskets you will find a suitable model. Use sandy, well-draining soil. It hardly needs feeding: an organic garden fertiliser in spring is enough. Trim dried leaves at the bottom for a neat trunk. In winter, preferably place the bowl under a canopy so that no rainwater collects in it.
