What is Wickplants?
Wickplants is a unique concept that means you never have to water your plants again! How does that work? All our Wickplants come with a wick inside the plant (a Wick). Every Wickplants pot has a water reservoir, a frame and a water level indicator. That lets you hang your Wickplant, wick and all, in the frame of the pot, so the wick inside the Wickplant sits in the water reservoir. The Wickplant then draws up its own water through the wick whenever it is thirsty. The water level indicator shows you whether the reservoir is still full. So you never overwater your plants again and your houseplants last longer. All you have to do is top up the water reservoir now and then and pick a good spot for the plant. The plant takes care of the rest itself.
How do I put my Wickplants combi deal together?
When your Wickplants combi deal is delivered, the Wickplant and its wick arrive in shipping boxes we designed ourselves. The snug inner fitting keeps the green houseplants firmly in place so they can't shift in transit. Plants don't mind a day in a dark box. That is how we make sure your green friend arrives home in perfect condition. The decorative pot comes in a shipping box with a water reservoir, frame, water level indicator and decorative stones to complete the set!
Wickplants step by step
- Put the frame in the decorative pot
- Place the Wickplant with its wick in the frame
- Fill the water reservoir through the small hole for the water level indicator
- Place the water level indicator in the frame
- Spread the decorative stones across the frame
- Enjoy your new Wickplants without a care!
Please note: make sure the plant's pot, the one holding the wick, is not standing in water. Only the wick should hang in the water!
When should I top up my water reservoir?
Every Wickplants combi deal comes with a water level indicator. It hangs in the water reservoir of the pot. When the reservoir is full, you will see the red bar of the indicator sitting right at the top. Glance at the indicator once a week and your plants will stay looking good for longer. When the red bar starts to drop, that is the sign the water reservoir is nearly empty. Time to top it up.
How do I top up my water reservoir?
But how do you top up the reservoir once your Wickplant is fully set up? Very simple! Move the decorative stones lying on the frame slightly aside near the water level indicator. Lift the indicator out of the frame. Now you can top up the water reservoir through the indicator's hole. Then put the indicator back in the frame and spread the decorative stones neatly over the frame again. Is the red bar still not right at the top? Then you can add more water to the reservoir.

How often do I need to top up my water reservoir?
That depends on the Wickplant, its position and the time of year. Every houseplant needs more water in summer than in winter. With Wickplants you no longer have to keep track of that. The only difference is that the water reservoir empties a little faster in summer than in winter! A large houseplant also drinks more than a houseplant of around 50 cm tall. So the reading on the water level indicator is all you need to follow. Worrying about how much water a plant needs is a thing of the past. The plant looks after itself and gets exactly the amount of water it needs.
