The potting soil of the Calathea Insigne can be kept lightly moist on a regular basis, but take care not to overwater the plant. Too much water builds up at the bottom of the pot around the roots, and that's how root rot starts.
So we recommend having a good feel before every watering. Is the soil still moist from last time? Then hold off for a bit.

It's also good to mist the leaves regularly with a spray bottle. That keeps the humidity around the plant nice and high.
