Ficus Elastica Robusta is also known as the Indian Rubber Tree. Indeed, until the 20th century, the Ficus Robusta was an important source for the extraction of rubber. The Elastica Robusta is related to the Ficus and counts more than 1,000 different species that you cannot immediately tell belong to the same family. Most Ficus species originate from tropical Asia.

The Ficus Robusta shrub is not a difficult houseplant to look after. However, it is sensitive to new environments. Should Ficus grow to one side, do not move the plant all at once but turn it a little every day. With major changes, the plant may drop its leaves. A weekly spraying will benefit Ficus' leaves. Dust and possible pests will not get a chance this way.
