The Ficus Elastica Robusta is also known as the Indian Rubber Tree. Indeed, until the 20th century, the Ficus Elastica was an important source for the extraction of rubber.
The Ficus Elastica Robusta has deep dark red leaves and at the top of the plant is a red plume. Many people think this is the Ficus' flower, but this is not true. From this plume, Ficus develops its leaves.

Ficus Robusta is not a difficult houseplant to look after. However, it is sensitive to new environments. Should Ficus grow to one side, do not move the plant all at once but turn it a little every day. This is because in case of major changes, the plant may drop its leaves.
