The Pachira is a remarkably easy houseplant when it comes to care. Watering it once every three weeks is enough to keep it healthy and happy. In the winter months you can spoil the Pachira with the occasional light misting. Because the humidity is lower in winter, the air can feel a little dry for the Pachira. Misting regularly keeps the plant a lovely green and stops the leaves from drying out.

The Pachira is an easy houseplant that stores water in its thick trunk, which is why it only needs water once every three weeks. To be sure it’s time to water, simply feel whether the potting soil is dry. Still damp? Then hold off a little longer. That keeps the roots from getting too wet and your Pachira healthy and strong.
How much light does the Pachira Aquatica - 70cm need?
The money tree (Pachira) needs at least 3 to 5 hours of light a day to grow well. Do avoid harsh sunlight, though, because this green houseplant doesn’t cope with it. Is your Pachira shooting up quickly but producing few leaves? Then it’s probably standing somewhere too dark. Move it to a brighter spot in that case, though not into full sun, so it can fill out with leaves again.
