Beaucarnea is also known as Elephant's Foot. The plant owes this nickname to its large trunk, which resembles an elephant's leg. Apart from its unique appearance, the thick trunk is also very useful for the plant. In it, Beaucarnea stores water and has its own water reservoir. As a result, you don't have to water the plant very often and it can go a long time without - handy!
Water requirements Beaucarnea - 130cm
As mentioned above, the Beaucarnea needs very little water. The plant stores water in the stem. This way, the Beaucarnea can supply itself with water for a long time. We recommend only watering again when the soil is dry for a long time. In winter, this will be even longer than in summer. If in doubt, we recommend waiting before watering. Too much water can cause root rot, which the plant cannot tolerate.
Light requirements of Beaucarnea - 130 cm
Beaucarnea likes a spot in the light. Therefore, place the plant close to a window where it receives enough daylight. The Beaucarnea needs light to stay beautiful. If there is too little light, leaf growth will slow down or even stop altogether.
