Care & tips Portuguese cherry laurel - 100cm
Portuguese bay laurel is a strong, hardy outdoor plant that stands up well to pruning and is therefore ideal for forming a tight hedge. This bay laurel grows reasonably compact and has a calm growth rate, so you don't have to prune it constantly. Prune twice a year for a nice, dense hedge. Preferably use hedge shears with sharp blades to prevent fraying of the leaves.
Water requirements Portuguese bay laurel - 100cm
The Portuguese bay laurel likes a slightly moist soil, especially in the first weeks after planting. Make sure the soil does not dry out, especially during dry periods or heat waves.
Light requirement for Portuguese cherry laurel - 100cm
This hedge plant prefers a sunny to semi-shady spot. Portuguese bay laurel does well in most gardens, as long as it is not in full shade all day. With sufficient light, it retains its deep green leaf colour and grows evenly.
