Strelitzia reginae owes its nickname to its striking and exotic flowers, which are reminiscent of the colourful feathers of a bird of paradise. It is important to note that not every Strelitzia produces flowers; after all, it is a living creature that grows in its own way. The plant will not be able to flower until it is about seven years old.
