The Strelitzia Reginae is known for its stunning orange and blue flowers. Not every plant flowers by itself, though: it first needs to be about four or five years old. With the right care you greatly improve the chances of blooms, and the attention you put in is rewarded with spectacular flowers.
How much water does the Strelitzia Reginae - 100cm need?
The Strelitzia Reginae is a big plant and needs plenty of water, especially in summer. Give it enough that the soil is dry again after about a week. Feel the soil regularly at first: if it's already dry after three days, give a little more.
In winter the plant needs less. Let the soil dry out slightly between waterings to prevent root rot.
Mist the leaves weekly. This keeps the plant healthy, removes dust and helps keep pests away.
