Product description
The Dypsis Lutescens, also known as the Golden Palm or Areca Palm, is a wonderful tropical addition to your living room. The palm originates from the island Madagascar but is now widely planted in South America, the Dominican Republic and the Canary Islands.
What a wonderful tropical atmosphere the Dypsis Lutescens creates with its appearance. The wide, fan-like leaves brighten up any spot in your home. The Dypsis Lutescens is also known as the Areca palm or the Golden palm. Apart from the fact that the plant has a strong air-purifying effect, it is also very nice to look at.
Care & tips Dypsis Lutescens - 40cm
The Dypsis Lutescens prefers a spot in normal daylight, without too much direct sunlight.
Although it is a tropical plant, it does not fare well in too much direct sunlight and the leaves may burn. Make sure that the palm is placed in a light spot, out of a draught. A draught makes the plant more susceptible to insects, which of course you don’t want to have.
Water requirements for Dypsiss Lutescens - 40cm
The soil of the Dypsis lutescens should always be moist. Make sure it is not too wet and that the water does not sink to the bottom. This can cause water to stand at the roots and cause root rot. Root rot can mean the end of the plant. Try to water several times in small doses instead of a whole watering can at once. Feel the soil with two fingers to determine whether the plant is ready for another watering. If the soil is very dry, give the plant some water. If the soil is still wet after a few days, it is better to wait a little.
Light requirements for Dypsis Lutescens - 40cm
The Dypsis lutescens prefers a light place without too much direct sunlight. A north-facing window would be ideal; a south-facing window quickly becomes too hot. If there is too much sunlight, the leaves will turn yellow and eventually die. In this case, move the plant to a place with less sunlight. When the Dypsis Lutescens receives too little light, the leaves will droop. In this case, we recommend finding a new and lighter spot.
Is Dypsis Lutescens - 40cm poisonous?
No, fortunately the Dypsis Lutescens is not poisonous and is therefore considered child and animal friendly.
