The Nolina stores water in its trunk and therefore has low water needs. Allow the potting soil to dry out completely between waterings. In winter, the plant can go without water for longer periods. Too much water is the biggest enemy of this plant, so it is better to water too little than too much.

The Nolina Bushy prefers a bright location with plenty of indirect sunlight but can also handle direct sunlight well. A spot near a south- or west-facing window is ideal. It will also survive in partial shade, but growth will be slower.
