The Ficus Elastica “Tineke”, also known as the Indian rubber tree, is a colourful houseplant with a remarkable history. Until the 20th century, it was used for rubber production. This variegated variety belongs to the large Ficus family, which includes more than 1,000 species, mainly native to tropical Asia.

The Ficus Tineke is an easy houseplant to care for, although it can be somewhat sensitive to changes in its environment. Is the plant growing crookedly to one side? Don't turn it all at once, but a little bit every day so that it can get used to it gradually. Major changes can cause it to drop its leaves. Spraying it once a week helps to keep the leaves healthy and dust-free, while also preventing pests from nesting.
