The Chamaerops is known for its snapped leaves and small bumps on the foliage. These palms grow on the coast in Spain in the wind and snap their leaves out of protection. With this precaution, the palm ensures that an entire stem does not break off with every gust of wind.

This beautiful, tropical plant is also called the European dwarf palm. This is the only palm species native to Europe. It grows mainly around the Mediterranean Sea and functions well as both an indoor and an outdoor plant. Indeed, this palm can withstand frost well.
