The Chamaerops, also called the European Dwarf Palm, is the only palm species that originates from Europe. This palm grows mainly around the Mediterranean. The palm can be placed both indoors and outdoors, this is because the palm can tolerate frost well. The Chamaerops also does not grow very large in comparison to other palms.

The Chamaerops Humilis originally grows in areas where it is a little warmer. It can withstand bright sunlight and therefore prefers a spot in the full sun. Water this palm when the soil feels dry.

You can easily assess the water requirements of the Chamaerops Humilis by feeling the soil from time to time to see if it is slightly moist. If this is not the case, it is time to give the palm some water.

This palm originates from a region where the sun shines more often than here in the Netherlands. It can withstand a little sunlight and likes to be in full sun. Sometimes you have to let a houseplant get used to direct sunlight, so do not place it in direct sunlight.
