Product Description

The Polyscias Fabian, also known as the Aralia, originates from Africa and Asia.
The plant is not difficult to care for, but perhaps requires a little more attention than other plants. Besides the fact that the Polyscias Fabian looks beautiful and brings a tropical atmosphere, the plant is also a star in purifying the air. The leaves of the plant convert carbon dioxide into oxygen, yeah!

A fun fact: in Greek, 'Polyscias' means many shades. This refers to the fact that the Polyscias Fabian offers a lot of shade, because in nature this plant can grow into a huge tree.

Care & tips Polyscias Fabian

The Polyscias Fabian is not a difficult plant to take care of, but it does require a little more attention than others. The Polyscias needs the right location, namely in daylight without too much direct sunlight. The houseplant is naturally sensitive to pests, so make sure you do not put it in a draught. In a draught, the plant is even more susceptible to insects. If this does happen, fortunately it is easy to combat with a biological or chemical pesticide. The Polyscias can use some extra plant food in the summer, but we strongly advise against it in the winter. Make sure that you do not overfeed, as this can damage the plant.

Water requirements of the Polyscias Fabian

The soil should always remain moist during the summer months. Do not let the soil dry out between waterings. You can easily check with your fingers whether the soil is still moist by feeling it. If the soil is dry at a deeper level, the plant can be watered again. We recommend that you water several times with small amounts rather than a large amount in one go. In the winter months, the soil may dry out a little between waterings before you water again.

Because the Polyscias Fabian originates from the tropics, we recommend regularly watering this houseplant to keep the humidity high. Spraying the plant will also help to prevent pests.

Light requirements Polyscias Fabian

The Polyscias Fabian prefers a light spot, without too much direct sunlight. Direct sunlight does not benefit this houseplant; a few hours of indirect sunlight is sufficient for the Polyscias Fabian. This houseplant also does not like to change its location, so do not move it too often.

Is the Polyscias Fabian a poisonous houseplant?

The Polyscias Fabian is fortunately not poisonous and is therefore the ideal houseplant if you have small children or naughty pets!
