How do you care for a Philodendron?

- Watering: keep the soil slightly moist, but prevent the roots from standing in wet soil. In winter, the soil may become slightly drier between waterings.
- Pitch: put your Philodendron in a place with plenty of daylight, but avoid direct sunlight. A temperature between 15 and 25 degrees is ideal.
- Pruning and repotting: remove dead or unwanted leaves with clean scissors. Repot preferably in spring, about once every two years.
- Nutrition: during the growing season (spring and summer), give regular houseplant food, but never use more than recommended.
Can I take cuttings from a Philodendron?
Many Philodendron species are easy to take cuttings via a stem with an aerial root. Allow the cutting to root in water or directly in soil.
How often should I rotate my Philodendron?
Turn the plant regularly so that all sides of the plant receive the same amount of light and the plant continues to grow nicely straight. Once a week a quarter turn is sufficient. In summer, the plant grows faster, then you can turn it twice a week.
