Flowering houseplants

What could be more fun than having a flowering houseplant in your home? Seeing the flowering process and the beautiful flowers and colours that brighten up your living space completes it all. At Green-Bubble, we have an extensive collection of flowering houseplants that you won't find anywhere else. Bring a colourful Orchid or a special Anthurium into your Urban Jungle and enjoy the blooms!

The flowering houseplant Orchid

The Orchid is one of the most popular flowering houseplants in the Netherlands. Originating from Southeast Asia and Australia, today there are between 25,000 and 30,000 different varieties. At Green-Bubble, we offer more than 20 unique Orchids, each with its own charm and colour.
Despite the variety, Orchids usually have similar care needs. They need little water, but the potting soil should always be kept slightly moist. Avoid having a layer of water at the bottom of the pot to avoid root rot. Pour the water around the plant, never directly on the plant itself.
Place the Orchid in a bright spot without direct sunlight. Too much sun can wilt the flowers and damage the leaves. After flowering, you can cut off the spent branch and give the Orchid less attention. Put it in a cooler place and water less to encourage new shoots for the next season.

The flowering houseplant Anthurium

The Anthurium, also known as the Flamingo plant, is famous for its striking flowers. This plant comes from South America and has more than 6,000 varieties. At Green-Bubble you will find a variety of Anthuriums, such as the Anthurium Sweetlips and the Anthurium Black. What makes this plant special is that it can flower all year round.
The care of the Anthurium is simple. It needs a slightly moist soil and may dry out slightly in winter before you water again. Overwatering can lead to root rot, recognisable by brown spots on the leaves. Water several small amounts rather than one large one to avoid this.
Place the Anthurium in a bright spot without direct sunlight to preserve its beautiful flowers. Too much sunlight can fade the leaves, while too little sun can lead to green flowers or even no flowers at all.
