Philodendron Scandens originates from the jungles of South America. Here, the plant spreads out over the ground until it encounters a tree and continues to grow climbing it. Did you know that the name Philodendron is derived from 2 Greek words? Namely; philo (love) and dendron (tree), a real love tree.

The Philodendron is easy to look after. This special houseplant likes to be watered now and then. Because of its tropical origins, it does like a slightly humid environment. Spraying the plant also removes dust from the plant, allowing it to breathe better, which in turn prevents pests and other diseases.

Water requirements Philodendron Scandens - 170cm

Water the Philodendron Scandens once every 4 to 5 days. We do recommend feeling the soil before watering. This houseplant likes a moist soil, but it absolutely cannot stay wet for too long. In the beginning, check how much water you give the Philodendron. If the soil still feels damp after 6 to 7 days, you can give the houseplant less water next time. If the soil is too wet, it may cause root rot. 

Light requirements Philodendron Scandens - 170cm

Feel free to place the Philodendron Scandens in a spot with more shade. Ideal for a dark corner of your home. A spot in full sun does not make this houseplant very happy. Check what works best for your plant, because this houseplant needs enough daylight to stay healthy.
