The Livistona is also known as the fan palm. The plant owes this nickname to its large, fan-shaped leaves. Originally this plant comes from the Tropical regions of Asia and Australia, but in your living room this palm will certainly not fail to impress.
Despite its tropical origins, the Livistona does not like to spend all day in full sun. Place the palm in a spot in normal daylight, without too much direct sunlight. The Livistona likes high humidity. Therefore spray the leaves regularly to achieve this.
The Livistona likes to stand in slightly moist soil but beware of over-watering.
The best way is to feel into the soil with 2 fingers before each watering. If it is still wet here from last time, it is better to wait a while. Has your plant been repotted? Then always use a moisture meter or water gauge!
As mentioned earlier, the Livistona does not like full sun despite its tropical origins. This can cause the leaves to burn. Make sure that the plant is placed in a spot that receives normal daylight throughout the day.
In general the Livistona is not known as a poisonous plant, but we still advise you not to take a bite of this palm.
