How can you protect your olive tree or palm tree from the cold (outdoors)?
The cold winter days are approaching. Plants, like most people, do not like the cold. So how can you best protect your outdoor plants, such as olive trees or palms, when it freezes?

Here are our three tips.

Cover the pot with straw or burlap sacks. This provides extra insulation around the roots. Avoid plastic, as it suffocates the plant and traps the cold.

Wrap the top of the plant in acrylic cloth or burlap sacks. Make sure that the burlap sacks do not get damp, as they can become too heavy and cause the branches to break.

Place the plant close to the house. The heat radiated by the walls provides extra protection against the cold, especially at night.
