How much water does the Calathea Bluegrass - 35cm need?
The potting soil of the Calathea Bluegrass can be kept slightly moist on a regular basis, but be careful not to overwater the plant. Excess water can collect at the bottom of the pot around the roots and cause root rot.
That's why we recommend feeling the soil before every watering. Is it still moist from last time? Then wait a little longer.
It's also a good idea to mist the leaves regularly with a plant sprayer. That keeps the humidity around the plant high.
How much light does the Calathea Bluegrass - 35cm need?
The Calathea Bluegrass originally grows in the tropics of South America and the Amazon region, in the shade of large trees. That's why the plant doesn't tolerate too much (direct) sunlight and prefers a shady spot in your home too. In a shady spot the leaves stay at their most beautiful and the plant is encouraged to produce new leaf patterns.
