The Ficus Nitida loves a sunny spot and therefore gets through a little more water than most plants. In summer the soil can stay lightly moist at all times, but be careful not to give the plant too much. Excess water can linger around the roots and cause root rot. The best approach is to get a feel for what each plant needs. Push two fingers deep into the soil to work out whether it's dry down there or still wet. If it's still damp from the last watering, hold off a little longer. Has the plant been repotted? Then always use a moisture meter.
