Care & tips for the Calathea Orbifolia - 75cm
The Calathea is an incredibly easy houseplant. Give it a spot in bright indirect light and it'll soon be happy.
How much water does the Calathea Orbifolia - 75cm need?
The potting soil of the Calathea Orbifolia should be kept slightly moist on a regular basis, but be careful with overwatering. Excess water can collect around the roots at the bottom of the pot, which can lead to root rot. So always feel the potting soil carefully before watering. Is it still moist from the last watering? Then wait a little longer before watering again.
It's also important to mist the leaves regularly with a plant sprayer. This helps keep the humidity around the plant up, which is essential for healthy growth.
How much light does the Calathea Orbifolia - 75cm need?
The Calathea Orbifolia has its origins in the tropical rainforests of South America and the Amazon region, where it grows in the shade of large trees. As a result, the plant doesn't cope well with bright or direct sunlight and prefers a spot with plenty of shade in your home. In a shady spot the leaves stay at their most beautiful and the plant is encouraged to form new, stunning leaf patterns.
Is the Calathea Orbifolia - 75cm toxic?
No, luckily the Calathea Orbifolia is completely pet- and child-friendly!
