If you're looking for a living room plant with excellent air-purifying qualities, consider the Sansevieria Laurentie, also known as the snake plant. This one is unusual because it produces more oxygen at night than during the day. The Sansevieria is so robust it is virtually indestructible, which makes it ideal for beginners and busy households alike. It comes originally from Africa and needs very little care: water it only when the soil is completely dry, to prevent root rot.
