The plant originally comes from South Africa, but by now it grows across many tropical and subtropical regions. Do bear in mind that a Strelitzia only starts flowering from the age of 4-5 years or older, and only with the right care.

How much water does the Strelitzia Reginae - 40cm need?
The Strelitzia Reginae is a big plant, so it drinks a lot, especially in summer. Give it enough water each time for the soil to be dry again after roughly a week. Feel the soil regularly at first: if it is already dry after three days, give it a little more.
In winter the plant uses less water and the soil can stay dry for a bit longer. Take care not to overwater in this period, or you risk root rot.
It is also worth misting the Strelitzia once a week. That keeps the leaves clean, helps keep pests away and does the overall health of the plant a lot of good.
