Care & tips Calathea
The Calathea is a mega easy houseplant. Place the plant in a spot in normal daylight and it will soon be happy.
Water requirements for Calathea
The potting soil of the Calathea may be kept slightly moist on a regular basis, but be careful not to overwater the plant. Too much water can cause it to accumulate at the bottom of the pot near the roots, causing root rot.
For this reason, we recommend feeling this out before every watering. Is the soil still damp from last time? Then wait a while.
It is also a good idea to regularly spray the leaves with a water spray. This way, you keep the humidity around the plant high.
Light requirements for Calathea
Calathea originally grows in the tropics of South America and the Amazon region in the shade of large trees. For this reason, the plant does not tolerate too much (direct) sunlight and prefers a shady spot in your home. In a shady spot, the leaves remain at their most beautiful and the production of new leaf patterns will be stimulated.
Is the Calathea plant poisonous?
No, fortunately the Calathea houseplant is completely animal- and child-friendly!
How are my Calatheas shipped?
These houseplants are delivered in a cultivation pot. All our plants are shipped in a specially designed shipping box or upright on a special pallet. Due to the unique interior of the shipping boxes, the houseplants stand firmly in the box and cannot move. Houseplants don't mind spending a day in a dark box. This way, we make sure your green friends are delivered to your home in tip-top order.
