Like the other Pileas, the Pilea Moonvalley originally comes from countries such as China, Bolivia and Peru. The leaves are deeply crinkled and green, sometimes with darker tones running through them, purple or almost reddish. They even remind us a little of mint leaves. This small houseplant is ready to shine!
The Pilea Moonvalley goes by several nicknames. One of them is the friendship plant, which it owes to the fact that it produces cuttings fairly quickly, ready for you to give away to friends... exactly!

The Pilea Moonvalley isn't a difficult plant to look after. Put it somewhere bright without too much direct sunlight and it will soon be happy. Direct sun can scorch the leaves, so do watch out for that.
How much water does the Pilea Moonvalley - 20cm need?
The soil of the Pilea Moonvalley can always be lightly moist. Just be careful not to give too much water. It sinks to the bottom and lingers around the roots, and that can make them rot, which is hard to undo.
So rather than one big soaking, give the plant small amounts of water a few times a week. Check the soil regularly by pushing your fingers deep into it. If it's dry down there, you can water. If it's still wet after a few days, hold off a little longer.
