MPS Certified Plants: Sustainably Grown in Our Own Nursery

At Green Bubble we believe plants shouldn't just make a space greener, they should also be grown in a sustainable way. That's why our plants come from our own MPS-certified nursery. Thanks to that certification, we can demonstrate that our plants are grown responsibly and with the environment in mind.

The MPS label is one of the most important sustainability certificates in ornamental horticulture. It shows that a grower is actively working to reduce its impact on the environment.

What is the MPS label?

MPS stands for Milieu Programma Sierteelt, the Dutch environmental programme for ornamental horticulture. This international certification system helps growers make their growing processes more sustainable and report transparently on their environmental performance.

To achieve MPS certification, a grower has to keep precise records of how much it uses of:

• energy

• water

• fertiliser

• crop protection products

• packaging and waste streams

These figures are checked regularly by an independent organisation. Based on the results, a grower is given a sustainability score. The lower the environmental impact, the higher the classification.

Our MPS-certified nursery

Our plants are grown in our own nursery, which holds an MPS certificate. That means we work every day on improving our growing processes and reducing our ecological impact.
